The “Schloss Martinfeld Society” was founded on 03-05-2008 by 7 members of the “Deutscher Pfadfinderbund” (German Scouting Association). The DPB is a non-political, inter-denominational scouting association with 2500 members and an adult group consisting of 250 members. The association is spread out over the whole country. It originated mainly as the “Reichsschaft Deutscher Pfadfinder”, disbanded by the Nazis in 1934 and founded again under the present name in 1946.
Due to environmental restrictions it has become more and more difficult to find suitable locations for large groups of scouts and for the adult groups to camp and/or celebrate their events, so we decided to look for our own building. Following a long search we found the castle in Martinfeld and signed the title-deed in August 2008.
Our aim is to offer affordable accommodation to members of the different scouting associations and other similar organisations. We also welcome other clubs and organisations (e.g. school and church youth groups). Family parties (weddings, christenings etc.) and office events can also be celebrated in our castle.
